Final race of the series. I had done the maths, I knew what I needed. Chris Gunter did not manage to TQ, so that gave me options. I still needed to finish at least 2nd if Chris Won, but no longer needed to win to take it. 2nd or 3rd directly behind Chris would also do it! I was in this position, running 3rd behind Chris until the last corner. Mark Giaquinto cased the jump, tumbling off the track, allowing Chris to take the line by 0.2 seconds. I was behind Chris, but got caught on the line previous lap, so I was no longer in position. Massive congratulations to Chris Gunter on taking the Welsh regional title in 2WD for this year, it was a close battle and I even had some moments where I actually thought it would happen, especially the last 2 mins of the final! Will have to regroup and make it happen next year now. 2nd place overall keeps my F2 for next year at least. In the other 4WD class. Congratulations to Craig Harris on taking the title, romping home with 3 TQ's and wins to nail the title scoring 303/303. Russ Williams kept him honest all year though, providing some cracking battles in 4WD.
